I just went out to get lunch, noticed on the high street that there was a police car over hanging the chevrons approaching a ped crossing, 3 points and a £40 i beleive!

The police woman (well community support) was on the other side of the road giving out said penalty to a motorist who had done the same.

when i "helpfully" pointed this out to her nothing to do with the fact this Nazi with chebs gave me a ticket a few months ago that she was also illegally parked.

Something similar happen at my local police station a few weeks ago. They have a few designated spaces outside the building but there is also a stretch of double yellows nearby to keep an access gate clear but they always park their panda cars on the lines, so one day a traffic warden went round and ticketed all the police cars parked on the double yellow lines, it was great!

They tried to get out of it saying they needed to be able to get to their cars quickly but the council made them pay all the fines, think 3 cars got tickets in the end.

Something like this happened just the other week in Tolworth. A police car stopped illegally whilst one of the coppers got out to use the cash machine. Some eagle-eyed drinkers in a nearby pub saw what was happening, took a picture and sent it to the Surrey Comet. I think they [the police] have been suspended! Can't seem to find a link on the Comet's website.

Its a bit extreme to suspend them but its good for them to be reminded once in a while that they are employed to UPHOLD the law and are not ABOVE the law
