2009 a time to buy?

We've been looking for a while to buy some amenity woodland not too far from home for all the family to enjoy. We're already in a very rural area but it would be nice to have around six to ten acres of woodland in a nice forest area for the kids/grandkids for nature trails, camping, picnics and the likes. The sort of parcels that have been available of late have all been around 20-30k which is what we're looking to pay but have mostly been just too far for convenience.
2009 might bring some more onto the market nearer to home after this

It's a pity the venture looks to be failing but most of the land will, I'm sure, be covenanted against development but it's probably going to end up in private hands. Lots of these plots come with sporting rights so It's likely some syndicates will be snapping up adjoining plots for rough shoots. Just have to hope the price stays realistic if they come on the market.
