Oh yes, and you could fill up your MG Midget for £4:10s from fumes in 1977. That year, my salary was £1000 per year in my first job, and I couldn't spend if all. Don't get me started....

Some one at work has a wooden bowl or such, with all the different dated shillings glued on to it, but one has fell over the years and got lost, just after a replacement. God don't think I would fork out 5p for someones wedding ............

And to one and all, many thanks for the repose. Speaking to the lady at work, she will check the year she is missing. Apparantly she has a wooden football, with a shilling on it for each year her mother was married, and over the years one was lost.

She said she will bring it in tomorrow, that being the, case I will post a pic of it, sounds kind of unique. I should also know for sure which year she needs. She tells me there was one year where no shillings were minted, so it is shown on the football with a shilling turned over, just showing the head.
