Hi,
I am wondering if this will work.
I am thinking of wiring up the low coolant warning system on my e39 (pre facelift 528 sport 2000 model).

If I was to upgrade to high OBC (which I am not) part of the kit you get is a wiring loom and switch for the coolant expantion tank. One wire from the tank go's to earth, the second wire feeds back to the LCM unit. This is so the HIGH OBC can display “low coolant”

Details of the kit can be found here http://kb97.com/satnav/pdf/EBADoc2962.pdf

Now on the E39 low instrument cluster there is an unused lamp next to the cruse control indicator, it looks like a square box with the bottom filled in and a cap on the top (I guess its ment to be a radiator symbol?)

I have seen this light illuminated on one of our company E46 cars that was low on coolant, hence wondering if the same light works on E39’s but just is not wired.

So my question is how do I know which connector is X10117 and are the pins labeled on the plug? I need pin 24 are they numbered? I am planning on taking pin 24 to earth (via an fuse) to see if the light actually works before repacing coolant tank and ordering switch and loom.

The reason I am doing this is becasue I know how suddenly the e39's can loose coolant if parts fail.

Thanks in advance

Dave
