Ted,

I hear you saying - "not another pop-up adverts question", but hopefully this hasnt been asked before and has relevance to your revenue....

So, does a pop-up blocker such as the latest Google toolbar, prevent the reference logging required for per-view advertising? What I mean is, does the prevention of the display of a pop-up mean that you get less revenue from advertising?

I tend to leave pop-up blocking on for the simple reason that some of the sites I visit for work are anoying to say the least....but would be willing to turn it on again if it means that PH keeps the revenue flowing and improves further....I am sure that I am not alone in this...

Cheers,

Paul

I've noticed that the Google toolbar now does popup blocking. You can, however, select sites to be exempt from blocking. I'd be happy to enable popups for PH if it increases your revenue, Ted, but I'll leave it off if it makes no difference.

(worst one is that Norwich Union one - as its got Java in it, my PC hangs for about 5 minutes while the corporate virus checker does its stuff )

The tracking is dependent on the advert being displayed rather than an attempt to display it.

Thanks for the consideration. I take bookings according to my ability to deliver them. If you find them irritating then by all means block them. Obviously if everyone blocked them then it's a major source of revenue lost but enough people are seeing them currently to ensure I can still take bookings that are valuable to me.

I do try to limit the number of popups - I've just turned down a campaign as I considered it would be a bit OTT to run it alongside the Optimax one currently running.

Pop-ups enabled for me too....

Might be worth just putting a comment in the FAQ that you have.... dont want to draw too much attention to it as it might be considered to be too commercial, but I doubt that we are alone here and keeping PH going is in our interest as well as yours (though granted yours is job related rather than just social!).

Cheers,

Paul
