As you may have seen in my other posts I've been having a few electrical problems recently with the ignition turning itself on and then the fuel pump running all the time with the ignition off and even the kill switch activated! Checked the ECU in the passenger foot-well earlier (A 30 second job) and this is what i found!!
The Plug for the ECU was actually submerged in the water! (the car was parked facing downhill on a fairly steep drive) I took the plug apart and dried it out/cleaned it up and it solved the ignition turning on and also the fuel pump running continuously problems but the MIL light was still on so its getting dried out properly for a few days to see if that was causing this also? So my advice to everyone is to check yours and move it away from the floor (its only Velcro'd on and takes seconds to move a little higher). I obviously have a water ingress problem but i imagine so do a lot of you. And if yours decides to leak some water in be it a large puddle on the road you cant avoid, broken window or just some silicone getting old the last thing you need is electrical problems or to have to replace an ECU or even have it set on fire! I shall be moving mine up a lot higher!

Then after a few ignition on/off presses the pump primed, but the mil light is flashing & the car wont fire.
A quick look in the passenger foot well revealed the same problem as yours, plus it explained why the heater decided to turn itself on, without me pressing the switch, as the heater control box is submerged as well.

I can see the big wiring loom going in to the ECU but couldn't manage to pull it out, and couldn't get a good look at it.
Is the loom held in by a locking mechanism or do you just have to be a bit more force on it ?

One more comment I'd add to this post. MAke sure the ecu is rotated so that both leads come down then go up into the ECU.
In other words the entry point for the water is often the same as the entry point for the ecu lead. The water will then trickle down the lead into the ecu connector. This will happen no matter how high you locate the ecu unless you rotate to give the water an impossible uphill path.

Have done this to mine and repositioned it higher up with cable ties just to be sure. Last year I had water running into the ECU as well - although not pooling on the floor. I fixed the leaks (with help from lots of PH Cerbera people
) and re-sited the ECU to the 'roof' of the footwell. I got some strong velcro which seems to hold it in place okay. Further support comes from the panel which then fits back. Seems to work fine

.been there done that ... mine ecu was removed and replaced by the indie who used to service my car with leads entering from top ... soon filled my ecu - so dried out fitted upside down job done!
Another downside of parking nose down (which is good for bump starting i know) is that water can build in the boot recess and actually puddle higher than the filler cap - if the filler cap seal is not so good you could end up with water in the petrol?
( I only thaght of this as Budaholic had a petrol leak from tank because of perished cap seal so could work other way?)

I am happy to have made people aware of this problem. If i can help two others identify this as there problem or even help prevent it occurring to them, then i can say it was almost worthwhile going through all this. I now have lots of extra strong Velcro on order. LOL! My ECU is now right on the top but needs securing better as the original Velcro is coming unstuck. I have to say drilling was VERY tempting when i saw the water there but with a hole it leaves scope for water coming in also. I am now going on a mission to fully waterproof my Cerb. Wish me luck! (I'll need it!)
