Even as a Jaguar fan, I don't think they should be bailed out by the UK Government - they are not a UK company anymore. This news should now be the end of the matter. If the UK Government give a penny to TATA it will be impossible to justify.

I expect the special edition will have extra large alloys. I've heard rumours they may even put 13" wheels on it. Mad!!

It's the IT company, Tata Consultancy Services, that's sponsoring Ferrari. Jaguar Land Rover's owner is Tata Motors. I think Tata Motors may only be part-owned by the Tata group because Tata Motors shares a traded separately on the New York stock exchange.

Tata Motors used to sponsor Williams and Jordan when Narain Karthikeyan was (test) driving for them. Tata also has several joint ventures with Fiat including being Ferrari's distributor in India.

Ford also have a UK workforce - probably as large as Jaguar in the UK, yet they are asking for money from their own Government, not ours.

If TATA were about to go under themselves, the UK workforce would be the first to go - regardless of where any handouts came from.

hang on: I've got an idea. Tata sponsor Ferrari. tata also own Jaguar and land rover. Peter mandelson should only agree to help JLR if tata agree to Ferrari having jaguar sponsorship. And paint it green.
