I know I usually ask stupid questions........

How do the police get so much evidence on an innocent man? I mean at the time of the trial there was loads.
Is it a case of find the man you think did it and see if you can build the case before the trial?

Correct me if I am wrong but he was never convicted, the trial was thrown out as the evidence they based it on was ruled inadmissable.

The same result would have happened regardless of what sentancing options the judge had available to him so he would never have been hung anyway.

I'd be happy with £700k after a year in prison though.

I would hope that they would erase this from my criminal record, considering they where in the wrong and i was innocent!

The real issue is that if the Police had got the right person in the first place they would have prevented him committing further murders.

Devil's advocate...but is a 14 year old case relevant to today's technical advances? Napper's dna was identified from the scene because of these advances..if it had happened today then Napper would have been in the frame along with Stagg...if you get my drift...

Read a book called the Jigsaw Man...it has lots of cases in it....quite an interesting bit about this..
