Took me 4 1/2 hours to get home tonight as I was on the train immediately following the one that was hit. I'd have been on the one that was involved if the missus hadn't insisted I detour and do a bit of Christmas shopping en route to the station!

Could have been worse - it was on the main Birmingham to Manchester line. If it had been a Pendelino or Voyager train coming through at full tilt rather than one of the local chuggers, there may well have been a lot more injuries....
