i was just ploding along in stevenage minding my own business and a police car came screaming up behind me with the blues going. Got a 30 quid fine for a screw in the wrong place in my number plate. The 1 looks like a t to spell gto nbl. Nothing better to do hey. They should have been on the a10 10 mins earlier then they would have had something to moan about lol. Happy christmas everyone.

Surprised you're moaning - obviously a fair cop. And worse than that, it's a real chav trick, pretending your plate spells something it doesn't.

I've a customer who's lost his plate back to DVLA for three stops by TrafPol.

i'm not really moaning. Definatly a fair cop. No excuse but i bought the car like it not long ago i just haven't changed it. I couldn't care less about the fine it was just something to talk about.

Maybe you were spotted and they gave a local heads up to look for you.
I had this happen, driving briskly past plod on the opposite side of a dual carriage way.
I got stopped 5-6 miles down the road by a different car for a "random check"
of the car and papers

More likely an APNR system failed to read the plate so they thought they better have a look.

Or they had not seen a Noble close up before,I'm getting on first name terms with the boys in blue in our area ,three routine stops in a month Norwich Dereham Fakenham,they usually only see Porsches so a Noble is worth a pull

Went down the Chav route myself when I bought N88LED for £250 from DVLA. Couldn't resist putting the white screw cap in the middle of the first 8. You know when you've been N08LED! Always disliked private plates but thought that might have put £500 on the value of the car. AND the cameras read it ok as my 85mph speeding fine on the motorway recently proved!

i deleted my reply as in hindsight it will upset people. in short i'm not a chav and dont think altering a number plate is a problem. illegal yes but it doesn't hurt anybody and my altered one looks much better on the car than the standard block print one. i'm done here as it's annoying me and dont want to argue with anyone.

IMHO the only chav accessory is the (unnecessary and weighty) spoiler which is why mine was delivered sans.

3 points and £60. Its laughable isn't it, I've been a little cagey since and have had no end of little 1 litre cars blatting past me at 90mph!

i dont mean to hijack the thread...but one of the things that has always put me off buying a Noble is the huge spoiler on the back...not a dig as i think the cars are great...i just dont want to drive a car (on the road) with a massive spoiler on it...each to their own though. Seriously though, can the spoiler be removed easy enough without a problem ?? if the answer is yes then i will be in the market for a noble !
