I don't even bother watching trailors if they only offer quicktime, I'm not clogging my system up with that. Why don't they offer a link to a windows format?

Its Apples own format, hence why apple offer movies in that format.

Yes but it infests your machine like a virus and tries to get you to download Safari, Bounjour and iTunes forevermore.

I view it as malware quite honestly.

Install VLC and klite codec pack(comes with media player classic). One plays what the other doesn't and they play everything I don't like to clog up my system with windows media player

Seems to be the way with a lot of software that used to be small packages for common web browsing - stuff like Adobe Reader, flash players etc. Quicktime does seem to take the piss though, in the quest by these programs to not only swallow up as much hard drive and memory as possible with little background programs, but also to redirect every file association on your system away from the programs you want to use and to them.

And since I can't watch that trailer at work, I have nothing more constructive to add to this thread

Trailer looked good, anything with Christian Bale in is usually worth watching.

And I think I saw Derek Reese from Chronicles in it, so perhaps they are trying to keep continuity.

Quicktime Alternative is the way to do it, it just installs the codec part of Quicktime allowing you to watch the videos in the browser/media player etc without installing the rest of the crap.

It's what is happening in the early period after Judgement Day I think so it's a continuation from T3, I also think they aren't giving too much away on that trailer unlike some films that show all the good bits.

From what I read, you had to disregard the TV series completely as the film contradicts a lot of the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Thanks for the info re codecs I just wacthed it and it worked fine although I too miss the Sarah Connor angle, but guess at her age now there would be little appeal for an old lady wih a walking stick.
