Computer through the tv, not working, well not for long HELP

A friend very kindly gave me a 42 inch plasma tv, I hook it up to the pooter with the scat to computer cable ( computer has tv car etc ) turn on the computer and it fires up, and the screen on the TV is the same as the monitor everything is great XP pro start up screen is being displayed but just as the computer loads up and play the microsoft start up tuner the tv turns back to displaying the No signal box ?

Any tips ( i KNOW IT IS KIND OF IN THE WRONG SECTION BUT IF YOU STICK IT IN COMPUTERS ETC NOW THEN NO ONE WILL SEE IT SO COULD MODS LEAVE IT TIL MORNING THEN SHUNT IT ACCROSS PLEASE ?

Try the Function + CRT/LCD Button (F8 on mine)

If you realised caps was on, why didn't you just delete and retype?

Anyway, your PC's set to a resolution that's incompatible with the plasma. Try 800x600 @ 60hz to start with, then adjust accordingly.

Thats why it's not working - instead of sending all those 0's and 1's it's sending Number 2's!

All sorted, took a minute to figure out that the two screens now work in conjunction with each other ( Ie side by side ) as opposed to two screens showing identical things ( Is that possible ? )

Me really, it was only send the picture to the monitor, basically I hadn't told the computer to "share" the picture with the other screen. ( display, setting, select the second screen from the drop down menu then tick the box share video feed" or something or other).
