Secondary double glazing

Has anybody had this done in a Victorian house and approximately how much does it cost?

Ok, not that useful, but I have an Edwardian house and I am in the process of replacing my secondary glazing with double glazing.

The secondary stuff does work, to a degree, but its no way close to pukka double glazing. Modern fitted windows are much better in design and execution these days, that its often hard to tell.

Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating the wholesale replacement of sash windows with those horrible faux double glazing ones. I am in the process of replacing the windows when I can afford to. So far the really expensive bays are done as well as the front door. Its not cheap but I have managed to keep the style and sash windows and they are much better for insulation and sound deadening.

Early next year we will be doing some more windows as the secondary glazing just doesn't cut the mustard.
