The Classic Sports Car Club (CSCC) is to introduce a series of 30 minute qualifying and 40 minute pitstop races for one or two drivers and one or two cars based on the Lotus Seven concept in 2009.
There was an announcement about it in last weeks Autosport (11 Dec 08).
All cars that are based around the 7 concept will be eligible.
Details will be available on the club stand at the Autosport Show.

Keep an eye on the CSCC web site for details, they have not been released yet. There will be an official announcement ay the Autosport show but CSCC does not usually go in for too much detail in its series'. Regs in CSCC series are usually fairly free to encourage max participation and to save costs through not having to pay for technical scrutineers.
The chassis and silhouette must remain as per original manufacture’s design. Windscreens or aero screens must be used. A rear safety light must be fitted and operate as detailed in the MSA Blue Book. Headlights are optional but if fitted must work. Other lights as per MSA Blue book.
Cars competing in the Magnificent Seven race series must comply to both MSA BLUE BOOK safety and technical regulations.
There will be a simple class structure of four classes as follows:-
CLASS A:- For cars up to 1750 cc naturally aspirated engines.
CLASS B:- For cars from 1751 cc to 1800 cc + naturally aspirated bike engines.
CLASS C:- For cars from 1801 cc naturally aspirated engines.
CLASS I:- For cars that can not be classified in any of the above classes, who wish to race.
All classes will run on 1 A or 1B tyres as detailed in the MSA BLUE BOOK.
R400 stands a decent chance in Group B.

Just looking for a sensibly priced rain light at the mo.
re the regs, if my elec cut off is at the top of the middle of the dash (i.e. facing the driver, but not mounted on the scuttle), do you think the scroots will get excited about this?! My elec fire ext button is mounted just below it, but I don't think there are any blue book regs about the position of this?

Fergus - I aim to be out towards the end of the season. Need to sort ARDS, Test day, Rebuild R400 and test some new tyres. Just looking for a sensibly priced rain light at the mo.

If you can get at the master switch and fir extinghuisher i dont see that being a problem.
My R400 pull cable for the extinguisher is on the dash and battery cut out is ontop of the scuttle panel.

The Classic Sports Car Club (CSCC) is delighted to announce the sponsorship of its new “Magnificent Sevens” race series by the Gold Arts Jewellery Company. Henceforth the series, for cars inspired by the legendary Lotus 7 design such as Caterhams, Westfields, Locosts and Raw Strykers etc, will be known as the “Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens” series.
The “Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens” series is a mini-enduro type series established in 2009 for one or two drivers. The inaugural race took place at Snetterton on 5 April 09 and was deemed to be a great success with 22 cars taking part.
Gold Arts will provide a Silver Trophy for the most successful driver at the end of the season.
Gold Arts (www.goldarts.co.uk) are a high quality jewellery company based in Brighton and the company owner has been involved in racing, preparing and sponsoring Caterham 7-type cars for many years.
CSCC Club Chairman, Tony Rushforth commented, “the CSCC are delighted that a company with the stature of Gold Arts has agreed to sponsor our new series; the owner of Gold Arts has been involved in Caterham-type club racing for a long time & it shows a great deal of confidence in the CSCC that he has agreed to sponsor our new series”.

The Classic Sports Car Club was set up in 2001 by enthusiast racers who wanted to offer racing at grass roots level and since then has grown to over 600 members and runs more than ten race weekends each year. Along with a full national race programme we also invite our members to attend European race weekends at Spa Francorchamps and the Nuerburgring.
The CSCC organises four race series' of its own, “Swinging Sixties” for 1960’s era Sports and Saloon cars, “Tin Tops” for saloons and hatchbacks of all ages, “Future Classics” for Sports Saloons and GT cars up to 1990 and “Goldarts Magnificent Sevens” for all Lotus 7- inspired cars.
A unique aspect of the Club’s series’ is that its UK races are all a 40 minute “mini-enduro” format featuring a compulsory pit stop for one or two drivers. 2 cars can also compete in a “relay” format.
