TBH, I think if he'd thrown his shoes at Saddam Hussain whilst he was in office, the journo would be dead by now.

Whilst respecting your opinion I find it a little strange how people keep putting up this 'If Saddam had been in power' stuff. If Saddam had been in power, any journalist against Saddam would not be in a press conference given by him.

By logic that must be a thinly veiled insult, aimed at my personal belief that we'd all be suffering not just financial turmoil, but a global increase in radioactive fallout, had we not intervened.

My beliefs aside, my logic for this is simple. You don't have to be in a press conference with Saddam Hussain, to throw shoes at him. Sadly, no-one is ever going to get the opportunity to do that now.
