Plymouth-Banjul Challenge

Dear All,
On January 9th 2009, I'm taking part in the Plymouth to Banjul Challenge for charity.
The challenge involves trying to get an old banger from Manchester to Banjul in the Gambia. This is a 4000 mile drive/push through Europe, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal and Gambia. Our 18 year old, 130000 miler, mk2 Golf will have to get over the Pyrenees, Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert to achieve our goal.
Once in Gambia, our car is auctioned and all proceeds will go to local charities. We are also raising money for Christies in Manchester and have a justgiving web page for anyone who would like to give a donation to show their support.
I'll write a report of our adventures and post some photos when/if we get back.

If you're going via Plymouth you car will be liberated by Bomber Denton before you get to Millbay docks. 130k is just run in. He will be out with a big net to relieve you of the Golf.
Currently I believe he has the V5 for 95% of the Golfs in South Devon and has started the Plympton Golf Club - very exclusive membership.

The chick I'm doing the Oz Rally did Plymouth-Banjul, she's a Sky Tv camera lady so she filmed it all and has DVD's for sale. (She'll be doing the same for Oz)
