met up with a mate for a few beers who said he'd had the mirrors on his X5 pinched, for the second time this year

does anyone make any straps or steel leashes to secure them to the door frame - he's fed up coughing up £1.4k for the oil filled mirrors

1400 quid? yikes Big bolts (with the heads ground out so they can't be undone) and araldite would be on my shopping list.

I'm sure there's a joke about them not being used anyway to be had scratchchin

yep - £1,400

it's not the casing that they pinch, it's the actual glass unit and motor

the oil versions are the anti-glare type which is why they go missing

In my garage I have a broken set of Heated Electric Mk2 cavalier mirrors.

as it's the mounts that are fecked, maybe your mate could use the inners to fit. In fact for £1400 I'll have a go, myself.
