Autobox question.

On my auto there is a mode labeled 3, which basically will only let the gearbox go to third gear maximum.
Is it O.K to keep it in this mode when driving hard? Otherwise every time I let off it shifts into fourth, or downshifts from fourth in the middle of a corner.
Mechanically I can't see what harm it would do, but thought it would just be best to check.

Cant see an issue with that, As long as you are not abusing it.
Maybe it needs adjusting, because if you are flat to the floor it should hold onto 3rd longer. Although it changing to 4th when you let off is expected - the joys of expecting an auto to behave like a manual unfortunatley.
