how can I unblock a 22mm narow bore saniflo pipe???

Have had saniflo for all of 2 months. Worked great.

Recently blocked. Thought the pump itself may be blocked - so have opened it up, cleaned it out etc, only to find that the 22 mm outlet pipe must have a blockage - i filled the pipe with water and it overflowed instead of flowing.

There are NO vertical lifts at all - it goes down all the way. There are a few bends - but all are 135 degree bends.

I have tried some 3-core cable, but can only get it down about 40 cm.

I have tried a pipe unblocking hand pump to push the blockage thru with pressure - not work.

I have limited access in a ceiling void and as it is all solvent welded pipe, my only option will be to cut it, try to find the blockage in the void and then rejoin it with a straight coupler.

Any other ideas before I cut the pipe??

If you have a way of making the end water tight try a jet wash ? I have done this at work before but as I say make sure you can get it sealed or you will get a back wash/spray from it

Failing that you might get away with a drain rod without any of the connectors on ,but then you run the risk of just compacting the blockage further down the pipe,

cheers. I'm going to try the springy thing - I just tried good old fashioned lung pressure - after cleaning pipe etc etc. Not budging at all - more likely to damage my eardrums if I tried harder!

I was thinking mains water pressure - but if it blows off a connector in the floor void where I have no access, I am screwed!!

Well, I bought a spring steel pipe unblocker thing - 25 feet long with a metal soring thing on the end. Got through what seemed liek a difficult bit and could feed teh whole 25 ft in - and there is only about that much to the boss into the 4" drainage pipe. So I thought I had unblocked it - but it is still holding pressure!!

I'm surprised the pipe is blocked, as anything that passes through saniflo is pretty well blended/liquified!.

Is the outlet the other end of pipe definately clear?

If it is blocked, try some strong chemicals overnight..

Its only been used a couple of months. I think a tampon or five went in. Yes, the macerator will have macerated them - but maybe the fine pulp has accumulated at a bend to block.

What is annoying is gettign an unblocking cable 25ft down it and still not being clear.

Can you not try from the other end, failing that add another bit of wire onto the springy thing.

Yup, that'll do it. Saniflo expressly state that such things should not be put down one of their toilets.
