Just received my Carbon Cans for the Tuscan, (Craig if you read this, cheers), but they won't be getting put on for a couple of months due to weather and clutch problems.

Anyway, should I buy some of NTEL's de-cats to go along with them or is it a bit of over kill and make the car too noisy.

Never really thought the standard cans had that much noise to them to be honest, slight rumble yes but not what I expected a TVR to sound like.

I don't do many long motorway runs so that issue won't be a problem, just up and down to work occasionally, the rest just play times.

If there is any sound clips anyone has, wouldn't mind a link.

Cheers.

CC are a must for a Tuscan.
In my opinion a decat is just to LOUD with CC.
You can really tell when the engine is warmed up when you have Carbon Cans, they really start to pop and bang on the overun and give a nice deep rumbling sound.

Unfortunatley I no longer have my tuscan or I would have let you listen to them as your not that far away from me.

Although I dont think you ever leave TVR ownership, I seem to be on here more now and Im looking to get back into one sometime soon.

Enjoy

Can anyone advise how the CC's compare with sleeved originals, sound wise?

How do I upload a video clip, I can do photos but not videos. I have a video of CC's on a catted S spec engine.

Much louder, 115db as opposed to nuder 105db with the standard cans (I was told this is twice as loud due to the way DBs work)

Much deeper exhause note, much more "growl", lots and lots of popping and banging on over run.

ETA those noise readings were taken at various track days, I was never going to get on any trackdays anywhere with the CCCs on the car so I've replaced them with the standard casn for now.

Have a look on utube and type in Tuscan - hours of fun viewing!
I have CCC's on mine and they do totally transform the noise from smothered to trouser twitching.....you find yourself winding down the windows when driving through even the smallest of tunnels and you are looking for any excuse for the overrun pops and bangs.
Can't comment on Decats but CCC's to me are just perfect - a great way to spend £250 for sheer smile factor!

You can hear the difference between standard and de-catted/CCC's here...

The standard Tuscan starts its run @ 6:50, the modded one (mine wink) straight afterwards @ 8:00.

Remember reading that you had a pair of NTEL's cans before your crash. Were both together almost too loud?

How's the hunt for the new car going?

Now that sounds nice, think i'm swaying to the de-cats as well after that.

Steve, they were absolutely fantastic. If you keep the revs down, the noise is fine. But give it some beans and its awesome....absolutely awesome.

I’m looking around for a car at the moment. Prices look a little high for my liking. But I’ve spotted one I like, but they would need to move on price. I will PM you with the link. If you have a minute, have a look see and let me know what you think?
