Anyone here using it? Glowing reviews of it? Would be nice to ditch ebay for it.

Just saw a item about this on the BBC news. They are trying to decide whether its gaming or gambling. Each bid could cost you between 40p and £1.50, so you could get a bargain or it could cost you a fortune in bidding.

I like the business model. Are people really that fking stupid? You could spend hundreds trying to win a £50 ipod.

A tenners worth was more than enough to realise they're a con (about £2 actually)

I tried 'swoopo' where you buy a block of bids for £10, £25, £50, £100 etc etc and each bid is worth 7pence. It works on a timer system and its all about luck. It's easy to go on and see people winning Wii's for £30 and get carried away. I could see someone with a gambling problem getting really sucked in and spend a fortune. Not for me.

Yep, it's taking the ebay mentality to the next level. People like to say they "won" something on ebay. You don't win auctions. You agree to pay the highest amount possible for a product.
