Having an argument over how much adhesive I need...
If you read "will cover 10 m2" on a packet of adhesive, would you take that to mean it will cover an area measuring 10m long by 1m high, or an area measuring 10m long by 10m high?!
And would you say it's 10 meters squared, or 10 square meters?

It's dry lining adhesive, I need enough to do about 180 sq m. 50kg according to the instructions does 10 m2. Cant believe I need 900kg - equivalent to 36 bags of cement - to dot and dab with!

by convention surely if 10m3 is 10 meters cubed, 10x10x10 then surely 10m2 is 10 meters squared, 10x10.That's lots of beer.
Guess I'll just use a couple of packs of the adhesive and see how far it gets me

10 m3 is 10*10*10 (or a cube with 10 metre sides)
therefore
10 m2 is 10*10 (or a square with 10 metre sides)

therefore
10 m2 is 10*10 (or a square with 10 metre sides)
Similarly, 10m3 is ten cubes of dimension 1mx1mx1m - or a shape 10m high by a 1m by 1m base.
