I'm after one of the Seiko Submariner Style watches, have seen the SKX031K1/K2 and SKX007J..

Any recommendations on which is better (subjective I know!)? Not seen either up close apart from some pics...

And lastly anyone got one for sale or can recommend a good place to pick a used one up at a credit crunch price whistle noticed a couple on Ebay currently bidding around £47 with a day or two left to run....

My own proud very small collection consists of an Omega Speedy Pro cal 861 from 1982 and a Longines Chrono (can't remember the name!)...

Thanks in advance...

SKX007 for me. Dont buy one with a rubber strap, because theyre very cheap to buy afterwards and look for an Oyster style bracelet, rather than the more common Jubilee type.

I've got an SKX031 with an Oyster style strap. There's a picture of it on page 38 of the "wrist check" thread. Although the bezel looks slightly blue in the pic, it is of course black. I'm delighted with it. It was an eBay purchase - I'll try and find the name of the supplier. It keeps good time, I've had no problems with the water resistance and I think it looks good. Some may take exception to the fact it looks similar to more expensive watches...

I was at a meeting a while back, and one of the guys from the supplier has a lovely rolex sub. One of his colleagues had an interesting looking divers watch with the crown at 4 o'clock.
Despite being into watches myself, I found it difficult spotting the difference between the £100-200 watch and the one that cost 10-20 times more!
