Eastwood's "Gran Torino"

Of all the good Yank cars why oh why a Grand Torino?
For once, a comment about an American car which is 100% fair!"The 1974 Gran Torino Elite was developed by Ford to help respond to Chevrolet's ever popular Monte Carlo. Torinos were now even larger and heavier than ever before. The new bumpers added significant weight and inches to the Torino. All body styles were approximately 5" longer, and weight was increased significantly. As in previous years, the larger V8 engine options required Cruise-O-Matic as a mandatory option.
"The tide had turned against performance cars especially since the Oil Crisis in the fall of 1973. The Gran Torino Sport was only a shadow of its former self for 1974. To add insult to injury, the Sport was even available with optional opera windows (on vinyl-roofed cars) and fender skirts. The 1974 Sport was almost 400 lb (180 kg) heavier than a 1972 Sport."

But the Grand Torino is just a complete pig, it does absolutely nothing well at all. Plus having seen the remake of Starsky and Hutch it just makes me think of Ben Stiller who is one of the few people who has a face I could smack all day long.

Calm down, dear, it's only a film...
It's long past your bedtime, you lonely, depraved, Internet slobberin' mollusc. Get a goddam thread of your own, you half-baked, pussy faced weirdo! (Written in style of Eastwood's character.)
it's a 1792 Torino if that makes a difference to the talk about that.
I watched it today and loved it. It was like American History X I guess in regard to the behavior of the film. I guess this means some people will hear zipper head, gook and the like and explode in a ball of rage. The film is pretty much exactly the opposite of that and about everyone involved growing and the inevitable climax, but there is a glorious twist. It seems to me a very moral film and a comment about the futility of gang culture and how it only makes things worse. It makes alot of funny visual references to multiple cultures all being very similar too, which I enjoyed, sharing the same ethos, preconceptions and lack of tolerance for different people.
Utterly fantastic film. It makes a change from all the normal light comedy stuff. This is one of the best films I have seen in quite a while not least for the fact its one of those films where people will have so many ideas about what they saw and what sort of film it was. I tend to agree this film will archive greatness in 2009.

a 78 year old man telling a group of latino thugs to "get off my lawn..."
He's holding a rifle at them point blank range, and he plays an elderly pensioner younger than 78. And they do tell him to GTF ...
