Broken Speedometer - help and advice

Hi Guys. I picked up my new GTO3R on Friday. Thoroughly enjoying driving this great car, which is surprisingly quite economical if driven gently,

One problem I have had is the speedometer stopped working yesterday. Is this a common problem and if so any advice on what I can check to get it resolved would be much appreciated?

Another question is whether driving the car without speedometer is likely to cause any problems i.e. does the engine management rely on a speed reading for dynamic tuning or anything?

hi mate

i get this on my m400 if driven in heavy rain. bit of guessing around speed cameras needed, but you don't put any more miles on the odometer when the speedo is reading zero. don't think any other probs

Common and easy to fix. (probably, if I am correct about the problem)

That's true, but sadly some of the time when this happens the speedo can be pinned on the stop over 200mph, with the miles clocking up like mad!

Happened on mine, did over 3000 miles cominng back from Rockingham oweners day to London!!!

Maybe not driving it since sept 2007 might even it out.

Just had the GT2 out for the firt time in 3 months
