Americas East Coast in Autumn

Sensible head on please guys (at least for the first 5 minutes...)

Thinking about taking a trip to the States next autumn, but don't want to hit the usual east coast spots. Any recommendations? It'll just be me, no kids and a camera.

Vermont, Maine or pretty much anywhere in New England is awesome in Autumn.

Head inland to the Skyline drive and stop over at the Skyland resort for a day or so, it the Fall (Autumn) it is one of the most stunning places on Earth.

Boston and then up into Maine. Hired a 4x4 3 years ago to do this, best driving holiday yet. Recommended

Pictures really cannot do it justice, I know it is of said but only your own eyes can appreciate the depth of colour and the vistas, also the smell is great added to this is the chance to see real wildlife up close, bears, deer and a multitude of small critters.

If you go over, look it up, you will not be dissapointed.
