The case against an ambulance driver charged with speeding while delivering a liver for a life-saving transplant has been dropped, it is reported.
Mick Ferguson, 56, of Birkenshaw, near Bradford, was due to appear in court next week accused of driving at 104mph on his way to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

But on Friday his union the GMB said they have been told by the Crown Prosecution Service that the case has been dropped.

That's not very good news for the rest of us - if you think about it.

Such a conviction would infuriate the public and would make news headlines - bringing this scamera mentality into disrespute

Now they cleverly avoided that, so they'll go on squeezing everybody else even more....

Yes, quietly dropped with less than a week to go to trial. The rest of the world will believe that he was prosecuted because they won't hear of this. Clever spin.

Agree.

Although my e-mail to the Chief Constable in response to thie was abusive and vindictive I do wonder if somebody here *was* trying to do the right thing...
