Xmas pressies - will she be angry?
Discussion
I've been noting down what my wife has said she'd like during the year and have bought most of it.
The thing is, there isn't really anything I'd want her to spend her money on so I have said not to worry about gifts.
Do you think she's likely to be annoyed when I give her the gifts I bought her and she has nothing to give to me?

As lovely as the sentiment is, she'll probably feel embarrassed and irked because you've maintained the notion that you're not exchanging gifts and then changed the 'rules' without telling her.
It's nice to buy for her, more enjoyable to see her open things that I know she needs or wants.Edited by Chim Girl on Monday 22 December 10:02
There was a piece of jewellery she has wanted for a few years now and I was tempted to buy it but it has rocketed in price and I couldn't really stretch to it - wish I could have done as her face would have been a delight when she opened it

By the way, I think you've done a very romantic thing.

Really?
I hope Mrs K sees it the way you do

I had an excellent annual review at work and will be receiving a bonus so the item of jewellery I mentioned earlier will be bought with that and kept for her Birthday a few months later

whoooo!!!! Back the truck up!!!! Yes the guilt that she will feel will be shocking believe me!!!
Even if you say you want new polish for the car or just a DDD, please for the sake of your sanity and not being mythered with kisses cuddles and hovvering about tell her to buy you something for you.
However if she is the perfect woman such as my self she would have got you something anyway!!!!

Well, she has been mentioning things and I have encouraged her not to.Even if you say you want new polish for the car or just a DDD, please for the sake of your sanity and not being mythered with kisses cuddles and hovvering about tell her to buy you something for you.

I'm sure she will get something but I have encouraged her to not get or spend much on me.
She has shocked me in the past with some lovely and quite expensive gifts, things I have said in passing which I have never expected or thought she would buy me. I don't want her to go that mad again this Christmas. She's very sweet in remembering things I've said but a couple of times it's been too much. Just being with her is a special gift to me.
Given the choice between you over doing it and her doing nothing, or her over doing it and you doing nothing, the former is by far the safer option.
You have got it wrong no matter what you have done (well thats what happens in my house) but you have done the least wrongest.
You can only limit damage, not eliminate it altogether...
