Hey,
As much as I do see (and now expect) some relentless p**staking on here there do seem to be some people who can and will help people without so here goes...
I met a girl through a mutual friend about 4 months ago, I had always seen her about but never really knew her, she's divorced 2 kids, we started seeing each other mainly as f**k buddies, then after about a month had a chat where we thought we should perhaps exclude other people and start a relationship albeit slowly...
Alls good, we start out have a great time, I meet the kids they like me, she's attentive caring, all great...
Then the last couple of weeks she switches, first off she blames it on dreaded PMT then just thats she's stressed cos of christmas and the fact that her ex hasnt turned up for 4 weeks to have the kids so she hasnt had a weekend off etc
Kids were away this weekend and we have a good friday night, Saturday was not so good, Sunday we're discussing it and say that maybe we want different things and it kind of ends....
Now she's a closed book so i dont know if she gives a damn about it being over or not, rang her today and she said she's gutted but says she was feeling claustraphobic and that it was all getting a bit full on for her, she said she needs her space and time with her mates....any women on here wanna help me out and tell me what she's thinking?

She's ended it, why do you care what she thinks? you can't change her mind, time to move on.
Well it was me who kinda instigated the chat and brought up about having a break/ ending it, she agreed as we just come at things differently and are having trouble finding a middle ground...I dont know if I would have heard from her if I hadnt rung her but now I have she did say about meeting up to discuss things......

I'm pretty sure she's told you exactly what she's thinking - no doubt there's probably a deeper reason behind why she feels that way but she may not even realise that herself yet.You both gave it a try and it doesn't seem to have worked. Just leave the decision as it is and let her have some space. If she does have feelings for you then she'll be in touch but if you start demanding answers you'll just push her further away.

I so wanted t say that but didn't want to start a men v women war. I do hate needy/clingy men. No offence OP. LadyHayles said:

Female viewpoint?
This might sound harsh so forgive me if it does and I'm not trying to hurt your feelings but the reason could simply be that as she has got to know you more about you she has decided that you are not the one for her.
No worries like I said would rather have some brutal honesty and get this sorted one way or t'other, I wish she would just come out and say that though, would be easier to take....This might sound harsh so forgive me if it does and I'm not trying to hurt your feelings but the reason could simply be that as she has got to know you more about you she has decided that you are not the one for her.
Ignore them!!! Hummmph
she just needs a little time and space, as she has said that she is gutted but just feels closed in. It must be very hard for her being xmas and that fact that the kids spinless father has not bothered to show his children he love and cares for them other wise he would have been to see them 4weeks ago.
she needs some "ME" time to pamper herself, let her get xmas out the way and the kids back to school and she will come round even if it means you start from first meet. "hi my names .... would you like to go out for a drink?"
I hope you work it out it seems she has made a lasting impression on you which is always good.

My friend, on a serious note, I learnt the hard way that 'clingyness' is not an attractive element in a man.Women by their very disposition tend to display this trait, so the last thing they want, is to see it in their man,
Don't take it as gospel for being the reason she ended it, but judging by the tone of your post, that was my opinion of you.
Give her some space. Wish her well over the crimob period and leave the ball in her court.
