Hi all my S2 111S is due for its C service very soon like, Jan 2009 So 2 the questions i have,
1. where is recommended for this not too far from South Birmingham
2. What is worth doing at the same time (apart from water pump)

Many thanks

Ive rang my local spanner who has a fantastic reputation in my area and me and my family have always used them but after chatting to him this afternoon about tackling the C service and cambelts he gave me some concerns. Trouble getting it on ramps? Only done bodywork on them. Did a VVC MGF head and cambelt but admitted it was a bd and wants it for 2-3 days so he can take his time

Should i be right to be concered? 4 hrs labour he estimates + parts + VAT

I just got my S2 111S C-service done at Topgear near Wolverhampton, did what they said and gave good service. I didn't have anything else done at the same time but they have a 'range of offerings', particularly around suspension. If you do go with them probably worth them having a quick look and then suggesting something.

Yes, get it done by a specialist. If you don't you run the risk of any potential buyer in the future questioning why you didn't. It's more than just the cambelt, it's the peace of mind that comes with knowing that someone who knows Elises inside-out doing all the proper checks and those which aren't listed in the tick list, and giving you sound advice on what needs doing as a result.

Guglielmi's are very highly recommended and are not too far. Information here...

Service itself was £420+VAT (£493 at the time), but I needed a pair of discs and pads on top of that (which I knew about beforehand, but they checked with me and gave me a couple of options before doing the work).
