I have a fairly new engine and clutch install and I've noticed that after initial start up, when the engine and transmission is cold that the first few gear changes (usually between 1st and 2nd) are really rough/clonky!! After a few minutes and once everything seems to have heated up all gear changes are absolutely fine???? Is this just one of those things? Or could this be bad news? rolleyes

Thanks in advance.

try changing to a slightly thinner gear box oil instead of 80/90 try a 70 or 75/90 but sounds more gearbox related than clutch fault

What box is it? It just sounds like the fluid is too thick, and not flowing fell enough when cold. Ferrari's have historically had this kind of problem too, so don't worry overly.

The gearbox is a T5.

Ok thanks guys that's good to hear, I'll put a thinner gearbox oil in and see if that helps.

I've had 2 Cosworths and a Chimaera, all fitted with a T5. IMHO, they were all a bit of a pig when cold. All 3 of mine were in perfect working order, they just seem a bit sensitive to cold! I wouldn't worry about it. Just be gentle until the oil is warm.
