Bought a 730T a couyple of months ago, fully updated with new maps included but.
It's still not showing the A1 improvements along via Worksop and surrounding area.
The road numbers is shows on the screen are sometimes incorrect.
And the speed camera alerts and locations are very poor, the alers come on but nothing is there and suddenly your on-top of a camera and no alerts.

Bit poor for a Sat Nav device that cost £250.00

Rant over.
Have a good Christmas eveyone

Latest maps were released in November so you are probably on the older version map.

The maps aren't updated instantly.

The 2008 map is probably only using 2007 data.

I've got a road near me where there's been no roundabout for 20 years and they're still showing one - although to be fair, my paper map shows the same roundabout.

You can use the map correction facility on the TomTom to report any inaccuracies, and these help towards fixing the maps on future releases, but also the mapshare function lets you use some of these reported changes immediately (or at least a soon as you connect to TomTomHome and update it).

Better would be good - but the value of these devices is amazing. Not long ago they cost massively more, and manufacturers of upmarket cars still charge the best part of £2,000 for devices with less functionality and all the same weaknesses.

There are only two publishers of electronic mapping, Navteq and TeleAtlas. All the satnav manufacturers use one of the two, and there is no universal agreement about which one is better.

Interestingly, when TT bring out a new map version, it may be less accurate than the previous version: because the new version starts without any Mapshare corrections, and may well not yet include Mapshare corrections made by users to the previous version.

As to the accuracy of the speed camera database, personally I find the TT one good enough, but if you are not satisfied most people seem to find third party ones such as this one better:

Acquired very recently, don't think anything has changed yet.
