While on my way to get my new car Armourfended yesterday morning and driving like a granny in order to avoid getting stone chips, you guessed it , I got a nice big chip in my windscreen.

I have a couple of questions regarding the resin type repairs :

What are your experiences of these type of repairs ?

The chip/hole is one inch from the top of the screen near where the mirror sits. This part of the screen is black, so does anyone know if the repair can be undertaken with a black resin ?

I live in Surrey so if anyone can recommend an individual to carry out the repair I would be grateful. I'm looking for someone who can appreciate a car nut's pride and joy and takes pride in their work.

Many Thanks.

I got mine done by a AutoGlass booth in Tescos carpark. Free as paid for by insurer. All done in the time I did my shopping and I'm very happy.

Oh gutted!!!
I don't know specifically about the situation on black glass but I've had this guy do a couple of jobs for me and he's bound to know.
He's in Leatherhead too so could work for you logistically.
The company are called GlasWeld www.glasweld.info and the guy is
Adrian 07973 128873.

From what I've "heard" Autoglass are very hit and miss depending on the guy that comes to do the job. Bit of a lottery with them by all accounts.
