Farepak chavs back for handouts
Discussion
I don't agree with giving them there money back, but I can see why they might think it justified.
Why do you call them chavs? Yes they probaly don't earn much but they were saving up for Xmas not bunging it all on cheap credit with an IVA for Easter. Surely they were being sensible and budgeting. Or do you equate chav with anybody who does not earn above a certain level?

Well to be fair why not? They at least had the common sense to save up for xmas in advance in good faith and not just rely on credit - not their fault that the company went bust.
Why should they be bailed out? Bad things sometimes happen but why does everyone have to be entitled to a handout? Those people should have saved up over the year rather than put their cash into a glorifed saving account. Silly feckers. dilema for NL - bail out the co and repay the punters to retain votes & continue precedent of further bankrupting the country or draw a line under bail outs, try and sort this mess out once and for all and lose votes

I wouldn't mind seeing these folks get something back, a lot of them are usually OAP's who put a couple of quid away towards saving for an expensive time at Xmas - I know my own gran used to do the same. Most "chavs" as the OP put it would just normally pay for their stuff from either their benefit allowance or stick it on some ill-advised card or other.
Its a tiny drop in the ocean compared to the countless billions given to the banks - would be a gesture of goodwill for someone to just refund the savers who have "put in" to the scheme.
Whether it would set a precedent is dangerous however and that has to be taken into consideration.
