Hi,

would appreciate some advice/info please? Am interested buying a Rolex Submariner 14060m-My local (Gateshead MetroCentre)approved dealer has one in stock and is quoting me £3140
Have checked out The Branded Watch Company who quote delivery end of Jan (I don't have a problem waiting a few weeks) and price the watch at £2585 delivered.Has anybody any experience opf buying from BWC? any other suppliers I might try? any thoughts on my choice of watch?
All/any input much appreciated

Cheers

I'd always want to buy any watch of that type from a proper, walk-in authorised dealer.

If there's a mark on the watch or bracelet, they can sort it there and then. You can get it sized properly and by someone who's (perhaps - you might be a jeweller for all I know) less hamfisted than you. You're also sure that you're not getting a hooky watch that could have no warranty, or be a fake.

I'll buy all sorts off the internet, but a proper watch, costing a couple of grand or more? That's something that should be done the old-fashioned way, in my opinion.

I think they had a company before then changed to Branded watch company?
Kinda hard to ignore the discount though, and the AD most likely will not budge.

Have you asked the AD telling him you can get one on-line? always worth asking

Have spoken to the AD again and although still won't discount the Submariner he has offered me a free service (retail value@£250) on my Air King to sweeten the deal..what do you think guys?

To get anything is a bonus, but still £500 ish is a lot of money?
I have a speedy date brought from such a broker which has been fine
I suppose its like buying a car from these brokers, some people prefer to be able to handle it
before paying.
Is there an option to pick the watch up from Branded to inspect before paying the full balance?
Maybe that would put your mind at ease?

Personally wouldnt bother me and I would go for the saving, unless the dealer moved on price to within a couple of hundred pound or similar

Chronomaster has a july 08 14060 @ £2475

http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/rolex%20modern.htm

Lots of people have dealt with him on here

Great choice of watch if its a divers watch you want IMO nothing else for the money compares
I have owned a sub date and changed for the SD as didnt likr the cyclops lens
the 14060 looks so clean and goes with every situation smart or casual.

Good luck Oli (tell i have nothing to do at work!)

I've seen this a few times.

I think some of these dealers leave watches shown as in stock and then on the site for ages after they've been sold to get search hits.
