Whilst searching for a Griff to purchase, I'm leaning towards one that I've seen that has been fairly well upgraded. My question, is how do insurers look at modified Griffs? Having come from Caterhams, most companies do not load the premium for them but i suspect this is not the same for TVRs.

Mods include:

Engine mods to genuine 350BHP inc 5.3 ltr
Susp mods (only aftermarket dampers)
AP brakes
etc etc

Any clues as to whether this would mean a small premium increase or will they really load it.

I'm early 40's with no points.

It's tough getting insurance for you youngsters :ahem: hehe

Shop around you will be surprised how good the rates are, and many are very good about mods so list them honestly. If it is a second car several companies do exceptional rates for 2 cars sharing your NCB, Flux worked out far better for both mine.

Things like restricted mileage can also save money, but it seems very hard to say who is best, shop around with as much detail as poss (said it again - but I don't think you can say it enough)

We really should have a FAQ/WIKI of likely insurance suppliers to facilitate ringing round? Not sure if that breeches any PH advertising R&R though.
