In need of a new tv aerial outside can anyone point me to one that will give a good picture for a reasonable cost......

Call up your local TV shop; aerials designed especially for maximising digital terrestrial signals seem to be universally '£150 fitted'.

Might be a bit pricier at 8pm on Christmas Eve though!

i was looking in to that myself, as our reception is crap these days.

there are 3 main types, 8, 12 and 14 bar ones (maybe more, maybe less, but 3 main groups)

the most bars are for low signal areas, so get one with plenty of bars, pointed towards a transmitter, bars horizontal, or towards a repeated antenna with the bars vertical.

For the sake of £150.... they have a little meter for getting it properly aligned and everything!

THREAD HIJACK ALERT!

(sorry) I've just had a house rewired and whilst all the plaster was off the wall took to opportunity to put loads of coax points in (6 in total).

Ive run the cable from the room points up to the loft.

How do I connect all these together? Is it just one of these and then cable off to the aerial or does the signal need to be boosted or amplified in some way?

edit - actually, try the 6 way splitter first, then try the booster if needed
