How big is too big?

Lot's in the sales - but if you're watching from across a room 12ft wide - what is the optimum size?

That guide seems a bit wrong I thought Plotters recommends about 8 feet for 50 inch screen.

I think not!

HD content looks perfect from as little as 4ft on my screen.

I run some games at a much lower res than that and i still sit very close for driving games.

I run some games at a much lower res than that and i still sit very close for driving games.

Do you not get square eyes at that distance?

I struggle to watch 32" at 5'. I hate my friends house which is 40- odd inch.

I think it depends on how close you want it.

I have a 42" TV and sit about 7 or 8 ft away and I would not want anything smaller than that now!

I make do with my 24" LG TFT for 1080p stuff... Looks great at ~6/8ft

I think it depends on how close you want it.

Not sure if it is good for me or not..Is it better to look at a large image from four feet away, or a small image like a regular monitor from 2-3 ft?

I run a 100" screen at 1080P and sit 10" away from it. The detail is immense and everyone comments on how 3D the image looks. Personally I think that it's a personal preference, and I have been doing hi-def for 10 years since VideoDisk was introduced in the US.

I have just ordered a Stewart screen which is 120" diagonal although to get my projector to fit the screen, I am having to move it through the dining room wall and will have to get the ceiling strengthened to accomodate the 120kg beast

Not at the moment I'm afriad as I seem to be greeted with an empty folder on Photobucket where my cinema pictures should reside I will post some up when the install is complete and with the new screen
