Anyone else lucky enough to get a power cut as a present?

I wouldn't have been altogether upset about a power cut today. No Christmas dinner (and therefore no need to spend three hours preparing it all this morning, two hours this afternoon washing up and the rest of the day feeling ill!) and no cheesy Christmas telly. Reading a book by candlelight with some peace and quiet sounds like a good way of spending Christmas day!

I should add that I've got no children, but I imagine it could be a different fishy kettle altogether trying to entertain excited sprogs without any electrickery...

4 years ago we had Christmas with no power, wasn't hard in anyway that the folks on TV make out to be. Just darker.
