Catarrh cures??
Discussion
Had one of those long lasting colds (lasted for 8 weeks!
) - and now seem to have had Catarrh for the last four weeks or so - sick and tired of it - don't want to trouble the doctor - so aside from a fortnight in the desert - can anyone recommend any cures or remedies?? So far tried - steam room every day (with eucalyptus), air humidifier in rooms/bedroom, Vitamin C etc.
Would Sudafed/decongestant be the next best bet?
Thanks!

I had a Bronchial chesty cough for over 3 weeks.
Have coughed up tons of horrible stuff!
Finally went to the the Doc and got some Amoxicillin!
At last it is starting to clear! Coughing for three weeks hurts!
GO TO THE DOC AND TELL HIM HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN SUFFERING.
They are quite Human you know and not in the slightest bit worried about helping sick people!

Been there recently and really feel for you. At my lowest point I went for a chat with the local supermarket pharmacist and came away with:

- Flixonase nasal spray
- Non-drowsy antihistamine tablet
- Sudaphed decongestant
I used about half measures of all three together and was clear in less than a week. Even 24hrs later it was much better.
If you talk to the counter person at Boots they will probably advise against using the above together because that’s their standard line, so make sure you speak to the pharmacist if you want advice.
The alternative is a friendly doctor for some antibiotics.
1 small vick/tesco vapour rub
1 cotton bud
Small amount onto bud--place at entrance to nostril and deposit vapour at position.Best before retiring for the nights sleep,Breathe through nose.Job done.
PS-- just sipping a chilled Jagermeister at this moment--and thinking I should be back in the Pistonklause----------
