Tow Pack on RR Vogue

Just discovered it has a tow pack - unsure of what this is (other than a tow bar)....how easy is it to remove it and does it leave obvious holes etc ?

It's a bit of a fiddle first few times. Is this the 'ball' with a little red key thing that slots into an upside down tube?
