I have the 17 x 8J wheels with run flats and they are very hard work on anythink but smooth surfaces. I am thinking of changing to non run flats.

Can I put the 255/35/17 on my rear 8J wheels and which tyres would you all recomend.

Thanks
Andrew

Andy,
Go for it, I went for Goodyear F1 Assymetrics because of all the rave reviews and they were one of the cheapest options.

The ride is totally transformed and it's also a lot quieter. There's quite a bit more grip particulary over crests / bumps. Just go for the stock sizes.

After 10 months on my E92 335D I swapped the original 17" wheels with run flats, for a set of 19" with Eagle F1's. 235/35 & 265/30's.

they have been on for 16 months and 17,000 miles still got a fair few miles left even on the rear.
improvement in ride quality & road noize, plus much better turn-in and grip.

You should raise the std pressures by 3 or 4 PSI to compensate for the lack of stiff sidewalls

yes I told the insurers cost me just an extra 35 quid a year

really makes you why why they continue to hog-tie the non-M cars with them. Bought a car of tyre weld and a BMW/MINI compressor kit just in case.
