Is it cruel for me to quarantine the OH everytime she gets a cold? Considering she gets one roughly every other week, and usually quite bad, I tend to just stay away for a few days until shes better. She expects kisses and cuddles when shes ill and lots of sympathy, but really, why would anyone do that? "Yes, OK, I'll give you a cuddle, then I can have a thouroughly unenjoyable week at work as a result"

She thinks I'm being an ahole about it, I think it's just common sense to stay away from people that are ill.

Do you lot keep them at arms length when they're a snotty mess?

I couldn't do that. I'm more likely to be waking up horny in the morning, thinking "ah, but I might catch that flu/cold/plague" she's got, before thinking sod it and diving in anyway. Sometimes she even wakes up.

My wife and daughter have just had the vomiting and sts bug, I've steered well clear and worn latex gloves and washed my hands after if I've had to have any contact with them.
My wife doesn't normally want sympathy anyway so no problems there.

This is part of the man-flu thing. We just want to be left alone without being asked how we are every bloody five minutes, or quaffing down essentially useless "cures".

I wish my OH would leave me alone.

So annoying when they say, "but I can't breathe".

My Oh stays away from me when I'm poorly but for a totally different reason. He lost his wife of 16 year to Cancer in 2002. He was her carer for the year before she died. If i become poorly he distances himself as it upsets him. It upsets me as well as its then that i need him. Its a sore subject that we've discussed a lot. The first few times i was ill i thought he didn't care then i realised he'd just put up barriers to protect himself.

Sex with a sick OH has its benefits.

I stay well away from the O/H when she has a cold or flu, but that's probably sensible when you haven't got an immune system worth talking about!

Recovering from a stem cell transplant an a years worth of chemo. It does tend to stuff your immune system for a while, though it does recover after a while.

If she gets a cold so often, what is wrong with her?

Is she working next to an air-conditioning unit, does she work in a school?

Sounds too often to me.
