840Ci Cuts out sometimes when in Reverse gear

Hello people!

I have an BMW 840Ci 4.4 1997 model, Sometimes when I put it in to reverse gear & move the steering wheel or go from D to R then move the steering it cuts out, But not everytime.

Has anyone else come across this problem?

does it cut out when you press the gas, or just by putting it into reverse or drive?

It's seems wierd but I feel that when I sometimes pull up then come to an stop, Put it in reverse then turn the steering wheel it seems to cut out.
The other day I started the car up reverse out while turning the steering it just cut out.I had to turn it off then on, it just about fired up again.

Difficult to say, possibly a crankshaft sensor?

When the sensor went on my dads 5 series, when giving gas when pulling away from a standstill or crawling speeds, it used to stall.

also was difficult to start up again, had to crank for around 5 seconds.
