Hi,

Hope you all had a great Christmas!

Just wondering if anyones had experience of a girlfriends children (not yours)
Started seeing a girl I used to go out with 2 years ago, since then she has had a 7 month girl.
As long as I don't play Daddy I think i'll be fine...

What are your thoughts?

Many thanks, Kindest Regards

P.S: She's an absolute yummy mummy

Know a few who are in that situation and are perfectly happy.

Not sure I could do it myself.

Will never be right!

If it gets serious, you will have to play daddy!

Yeah I was seeing a girl for a year or so. Was quite easy as the kids were 7, 5 and 4.

Still go see them now.

Only hard thing was the constant disappointment that was their father, who only used the kids for show. Weddings and birthdays etc.

I can't see why it would make a lot of difference. Just accept that she will pick the kid over anything else on Earth and remember you aren't the Dad smile

Run away. Quickly.

Within 8 months of you and her splitting up, she found some other poor sap to chuck his seed up her.... and split up with him.... and now wants to get back with you.

SWT.

Edited as the last bit was complete nonsense.

If you are in for the long term, the little one will see you as the Daddy but it depends on how much access her real Daddy has. A mate of mine is married to a girl who has a little girl who was 3 when they got together and he had a 8 year old from a previous relationship. Now married for 5 years and all is fine and their own 4 year old to boot.

I did wonder what the OP was going on about.

What exactly does "Just wondering if anyones had experience of a girlfriend's children" mean?

I think it depends on the actual fathers involvement TBH, and also her attitude to the situation. I think as long as you keep lines of communication clear on the situation, am sure it could be fine. But also remember you are not her first priority in life, baby will be.

Sorely tempted to just abbreviate this to "Run like fk", but, I'll try...

Not sure I could raise another man's child; at least, not unless he/she was one of a bunch including my own. It cannot be easy even on those who can do it. Worse, if she splits with you, the "gubberment" will "deem you" (i.e. decide for you) to have accepted responsibility (read, money) for this child.

You are entering very, very tricky waters.

Best of luck, whatever you choose.

These scenarios work best when the mummy is a 46 year-old milf and the daughter is a 26 year-old honey pot.

I hope it works out for you. I'm in this situation as is the OH and its fking hard. His kids(aged 25 and 26) can be very difficult and he nearly always supports them with no discussion. My two are 8 and 11 and i tend to stick up for them regardless. Its a st situation IMO. Its certainly a test of the strength of the relationship

Once started a relationship with someone that 2 kids, the kids Dad was a waste of oxygen, didn't work and still couldn't find time to pick them up. It made me so angry that he was allowed to be Daddy but could barely look after himself.

Plus the kids got in the way of a lot of the normal start of a relationship stuff. If I have kids I want them to be mine not some idle spacktards.
