Is "Darts" chav - or just the Ally Pally audience ?

Hi DartHeads,

I am just watching the Darts World Championships in London´s Alexandra Palace,
in Germany on DSF, in UK on Sky Sports I think.
I think the players show some great sport & skills.
In the last years, the sport (organizers) want to move the Darts image
away from the "just a pub game",
but it seems great parts of the audience do not quite do them a favor......
Judging from the "En-gel-land, En-gel-land" choirs in "international" matches,
it seems to me that the audience could be the same as in a football stadium,
or at the "last night of the proms" ?

Bit of both, the audience were ok until they moved to AP, wayne mardle's wife is the ultimate chav though!.

darts is proper scummy, phil taylor, the flag bearer for darts is a bit of a pervert.

I have worked on the Darts a few times and I can report that the audience, after a whole day of boozing, scare the bejaysuz out of me.

forgot about the drink, imagine a football stadium full of pished blokes- the outcome would be a lot worse than you see at the darts probably.

Yeah and I have never been punched working on the Footie yet it has happened a lot at the Darts.

I watched a bit earlier, I thought the Lakeside WAS Lakeside. Thought there must be a big pub in the shopping centre!

Thats what makes darts, darts. A good loud crowd, whats wrong with that? I mean how boring would darts be without that atmosphere and the bloody funny intros to the players. It's all part of the game and not chavvy at all. Does working class + a few drinks + singing = chav?
