My fiesta makes a screeching noise when the clutch is under heavy load, I'm guessing its the plates slipping.
Been down to 'Mr Clutch', they havnt looked at it yet but said:
"if its the slave cylinder you're looking at £380"

...."and if its just the plates?"

"£199.99"

Seems excessive to me, any thoughts?

is it definitely the clutch screaming and not the fan belt?? never heard of a clutch screaming wouldnt use Mr Clutch myself had a clutch from them a few years ago they use cheap parts which dont last then when i went back that said it wasn't covered as it was not their part at fault but it was, but i may have just had a bad experience.

Ford will obviously do it but charges are steep

Have you asked about see if there is anyone who can recommended you to anyone??

Sometimes its better to pay a little more cheap clutch equals not as hard wearing plus you get a heavier clutch pedal spend a little more to get a slightly better quality and you get a lighter clutch pedal
