I'm completing my tax return (f'ing joy...) Do I report membership to a professional body (ICE), which has been paid by my employer as a £190 general benefit or is this exempt?

Thanks

I may be wrong, but I would imagine something you use only for the benefit of your employment shouldn't be classed as BIK.

superfast answer, thanks

I hope it doesn't have to be claimed as it brings my useful little return total down!

ou have to report it, but shouldn't get taxed on it.

I don't have the joy of a tax return, however a couple of years ago my employer put my Professional Subscription on the list of benefits on kind, so my tax code was altered.

I then spoke to the Inland Revenue who readjusted my code, and gave me a tax refund for some error they found in my tax! Was good nes!
