As a few of you are aware, I lost my car earlier this month. After umming and ahhing about wether to get another Monaro or go for something like a new Scriocco, I'm now pretty sure I want to return to the Monaro fold.

I've seen two cars i'm interested in but would like to know if any of you lot know anything about them?

First one:
http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/VAUX...

Standard silver VXR, but seems in good nick.

Second one:
http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/VAUX...

Has the quickshifter fitted and an exhaust kit (not sure which one though?)
Only problem is as someone already pointed out to me, this has a CV8 steering wheel and not the VXR one.
Suspicious?

Which one would you guys go for?

Many thanks.

Hmmm, probably not too helpful!

Personally, unless there's a good reason for the fitting of the CV8 steering wheel, I would probably go for the standard one, but unless theres mega mileage involved, you really need to see/drive both.

looks like the Wortec exhaust and i would get it confirmed that it has a ripshifter and some people just use the phrase quickshift box!

I'd buy on condition, and without seeing either it's hard to tell. Mileage apart, the modded one sounds better purely since you'll save a bit. But still, until you get in both and drive them it's kinda irrelevant.

Have you looked in the classifieds? I'd probably go for this in your position: www.pistonheads.com/sales/554896.htm

Maybe its just looks good in photo's then. I'd actually thought of changing the leather one in my vxr to a brushed aluminium one. I wont bother now.

Just sprayed pieces of plastic clipped on to the spokes. Some people have had the paint come off. I swapped to a VXR steering wheel as it looks better and is also a bit more 'tactile'.

Its funny you mentioned that, we have the the brushed aluminium finish and I've noticed on the one side its bubbled/lifted up. I guess the next thing will be it peeling. I didn't realise the vxr steering wheel was different. Any pic about for me to compare please??????
