Hi all, hope you all had suitable relaxing and indulgent xmas.

I'm still battling with my somewhat uncooperative wedge as per the "dyno disaster" thread, i've made some progress but not as much as i'd have liked.

Anyway, i'm trying to troubleshoot the ignition system wiring, so i have disconnected the factory wiring and installed my own.

The connections i have used are;

>Ignition module -ve to coil -ve
>Ignition module +ve to coil +ve
>Coil -ve to the bullet connector near the flapper (which must be the feed to the ecu)
>Coil +ve to battery 12v (Ive connected it direct to 12v for troubleshooting purposes only)

And with this lot the car starts and runs fine but the rev counter doesn't work. I thought the ecu and the rev counter worked off the bullet connector conection?

Yes, the rev counter gets its signal from the white/black wire feeding the ECU. If your car had a ballast resistor and you've bypassed it, you may have upset it wink
